Advance the Calendar

Advancing the calendar to the current reporting period end date (current time now) is part of the status and analysis cycle throughout the execution phase of a project. You advance the calendar in preparation to status your work packages and calculate earned value or import your actual costs for the current reporting period.

  1. Select Home > Earned Value in the Navigation Menu. The main EVMax window displays.
  2. Select your project from the Project dropdown in the Ribbon Menu.
  3. Select the Admin tab.
  4. Click Advance Calendar in the Ribbon Menu. A confirmation dialog box displays.
  5. Click Yes. The view returns to the Main tab. Notice the Cur Pd Start and Cur Pd End dates in the Ribbon Menu. These dates reflect the start and end date for the current reporting calendar period.

What to Do Next

Once you have advanced the calendar, you can:

  • Status Work Packages to calculate earned value. Otherwise, if you used schedule data to create the budget data, Import Schedule Status to calculate earned value. Importing schedule status also applies to projects where the schedule data was used to create the data in BOEMax and shared with EVMax.
  • Import Actual Costs from the accounting system.
  • Maintain the Estimate to Complete the remaining work. You can either generate the data in EVMax, import the current schedule data, or import the data from another system.
